Golden Hour Laughs + Waterfront Love: C&J’s Engagement at St. Pete Pier

There’s something magical about St. Pete Pier at sunset—especially when you have a couple like C&J radiating pure joy. This vibrant waterfront session in downtown St. Petersburg was full of laughter, real connection, and golden light—everything I love as a Tampa Bay engagement photographer.

From the moment C jumped on J’s back in a spontaneous burst of laughter, I knew we were about to capture something special. Their playful energy and easy chemistry made every frame feel effortless. We wandered the Pier’s modern architecture, hugged the soft concrete lines beneath the overpass, and let the salty breeze off Tampa Bay add a little extra movement to J’s floral dress. These two made the St. Pete Pier their own personal runway—and I was here for it.

One of my favorite moments? The close-up of their hands, softly locked together. You can practically feel the warmth between them—and the light reflecting off her ring? Chef’s kiss. It’s details like this that make engagement photography such a joy for me.

Why St. Pete Pier?

The St. Pete Pier is one of my favorite engagement photo locations in the Tampa Bay area. With wide open skies, urban lines, and water on every side, it’s the perfect blend of modern and coastal vibes. And when timed just right, the sunset glows just so, giving couples that dreamy, golden-hour skin tone we all swoon over.

Planning Your Engagement Session in Tampa Bay

If you're newly engaged and looking for a fun, relaxed experience with a photographer who’ll make you laugh (and catch all the in-between moments), I’d love to chat. Whether it’s downtown Tampa, the beaches of St. Pete, or somewhere off the beaten path, I’m here to help you feel like your best, most connected selves in front of the camera.

Pro Tip: Planning a session at St. Pete Pier? Try for golden hour on a weekday evening for fewer crowds and that perfect soft light.
